It's hard to believe that it's been a year since I lost my dear brother Kale.
Kale was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in October 2007. He fought it well, after the diagnosis the doctors put him on a medication trial because he was one of a handful of patients in South Africa who had this diagnosis and they didn't actually know how to deal with this type of Leukemia.
Kale was the type of person you could always rely on. He was always smiling, always seeing the glass half full and never had a bad thing to say about any one, no matter who you were.
Anyway, we celebrate the life he lived now and remember him for the ray of light he was.

Snowboarding on Mt Ruapehu
Well we proved we are slowly becoming Kiwi's this winter.
A group of Cameron's workmates were planning a trip to Mt Ruapehu this winter and Cameron & I decided that as it fell on my birthday, it would be nice to go along.
We drove down to Taupo which is about a 5 hour drive south of Auckland. It was a long drive, but it was so worth it. The weekend was incredible. And the mountian was breathtaking...
The first day we got out onto the mountain there was a blizzard and we were caught in it (Not a good first impression of the snow I tell you). The mountain was closed so we were forced back in doors. But on the second day we were out there bright & early and on the snow....
And considering it was my first time ever on the snow, I didn't do too bad, even if I say so myself...
We are so hooked on this now that we are definitley going back next year. Can't wait!!

Living in Auckland
Life in Auckland has been good. I won't lie and say it's been easy but after a year we are settled and enjoying life.
We have met some really incredible people (and some not so much) and there have been those who have impacted our lives in such a big way (and some not so much!)
Here are a few pics of the past year in Auckland.
